does low quality damage hearing?

I've been buying my daughter decent headphones ($50 to $200) for a while now because I heard that this was true:

- Controlling for volume, with long-term use, low quality sound damages hearing more than high quality sound. True?

I set her devices to have a maximum volume that's not very high, so I'm trying to control for loudness, yes.

She's a kid, and she loses or breaks her headphones occasionally which is getting silly to buy her sweet headphones once again.

She wants Raycon earbuds and I'm concerned they'll damage her hearing.

Thank you.
